Richard Li-Hua, PhD, is an Associate at Global Higher Education Consulting (GHEC) www.globalhec.com. He has worked 11 years (1997 ¨C 2008) at Northumbria University, UK. He has been Director of China Management and Technology Transfer at Newcastle Business School, where he teaches and researches strategic challenge and management, technology management, knowledge management and international technology transfer in PhD, DBA and MBA/Master programmes. He is an invited speaker to international conferences and an internationally recognized authority on strategy of international technology transfer. His research interests currently lie in international strategy in higher education, knowledge management, technology management and strategy, in particular, the effectiveness and appropriateness of technology and knowledge transfer in China.

Dr Li Hua, as Director of China Programmes, has played a strategic leadership role in developing the university¡¯s sustainable academic partnership and in the initiation, implementation and management of university¡¯s academic collaboration programmes, i.e. articulation and franchising, with a large number of prestigious Chinese universities (211), including Zhengzhou University, Wuhan University, University of International Business and Economics (UIBE), Tongji University, Ocean University of China, Dalian University of Technology, Zhejiang University, Beijing Foreign Study University, Shanghai Jiao  Tong University and Shenzhen Graduate School, Harbin Institute of Technology.  He worked closely with Professor Tony Dickson in designing the university¡¯s China Strategy, which has enabled Northumbria as one the most successful educational providers in China.

Dr Li Hua has been a visiting professor to a dozen prestigious universities in China and in the West. He has been Honorary President of Huaxin University (Private) and Honorary Dean of School of International Education at Ocean University of China and Zhengzhou University. He is Professor and Director of Management of Technology Study Centre www.uibe.motsc.org at University of International Business and Economics, Beijing, which plays a strategic leading role in designing and implementing the university¡¯s research and international strategy. He has a record of over 10 PhD and DBA supervision completion/examination and has published widely both in China and in the UK, including five international academic journals (2 Editors and 3 Consulting Editors), 2 monographs, 4 co-authored books, and over 50 refereed journal and conference papers/book chapters. He has 2 monumental publishing contracts with Palgrave and Emerald for annual publication, including,  Competitiveness of Firms in China, and Technology Management and Innovation in China (CAMOT International Annual Conference proceedings/selected papers).

Dr Li Hua is also the Founder and current President of China Association for Management of Technology (www.camot.org). With over 2,000 members, CAMOT holds annual international conference http://www.camot.org/2008conference/2008.htm in selected places all over the world. Richard advises not only international business, but also the higher education sector and government agencies. He was Chairman and CEO of Henan Yuxin International Economic and Technical Cooperation Corporation and Managing Director of Henan-European Information Centre before he joined Northumbria University, (between March, 1995 ¨C October, 1997). Prior to that he was Chief Economist, (Manager of Economy & Technology Cooperation Department and Director of Executive Office) at Henan Province Group Construction Corporation (CSCEC) (between 1982 ¨C 1997). He has been Senior Economic Advisor to the Henan Provincial Government, PRC, and International Advisor to ARMCO, Saudi Arabia since 2003. As China Advisor to Emerald, he has been leading Emerald¡¯s China Strategy in launching and managing a number of international journals, including:
