        About CAMOT  
China Association for Management of Technology (CAMOT), incorporated with International Association for Management of Technology (IAMOT) and International Forum of Technology Management (IFTM), offers its members association with professionals and academics in the field. It has been acknowledged that there is particularly close interaction between IAMOT, IFTM and the founding members of CAMOT. In conjunction with Emerald Insight, CAMOT has successfully launched the following international journals, which are official journals of CAMOT:

CAMOT Vision

The vision of CAMOT is to inspire excellence for management of technology and promote the appropriate diffusion of management of technology principles throughout China. 

CAMOT Aims and Objectives

  •        To provide a platform for researchers and professionals to debate on how competitive advantages can be achieved through the application of successful technology management

  •        To provoke the current and strategic thinking of how core competences can be achieved through technology management

  •        To provide a platform for Chinese researchers, academics and practitioners to have close interaction with counterparts in the West

  •        To provide a platform for researchers, academics and practitioners in West to have close interaction with their Chinese counterparts

  •        To advance MOT research in China

  •        To promote MOT education in China

CAMOT Activities

The Aims and Objectives of CAMOT will be achieved through the following activities and collaborative activities with other organizations:

  •        To organize international academic conferences attended by its members and those who are interested

  •        To organize international symposium on MOT in China

  •        To publish current thinking and strategic planning of MOT through Journal of Management of Technology in China (JCMT), its website, its newsletter and proceedings of conferences 

  •        To cooperate with IAMOT and IFTM in promotion and advancement of MOT research and MOT education in China

 Financial Support

The financial support of the Association shall consist of:

  •        Contributions from symposiums/conferences (to be determined by the Association); and

  •        Contributions from both government agencies, international funding agencies, SOEs and private sectors in China

Memberships of CAMOT

The Association shall admit both individual members and institutional members, such as associations, research institutes, universities, industries, and the like who/which are considered by the Association as contributing to the development and advancement of the field of MOT in their respective institutions. The qualification for members of the Association and the manner of their admission are as provided by the requirements of CAMOT. Upon the appropriate review process to determine eligibility, individuals or institutions shall be admitted if they express/share an interest in the vision, aims and objectives of the Association and want to become a member.

Founding Memberships

CAMOT initiators and founding members will enjoy free memberships and the status of the founding role for the association will be documented in the CAMOT Bylaws.

Honorary President

Honorary President, the figure head, who is a high profile academic/professional from China/West, shall be invited by the President after the consultation of the Steering Council.

CAMOT Founder and President

CAMOT shall elect from its founding members, by simple majority of tallied vote of the founding members a President, a Secretary, a Treasurer and 18 directors, after the nomination by the Steering Committee.  

Steering Council

Steering Council, consisting of 30 active founding members as attached, has the responsibility of drafting the statement of launching, nomination of President candidates, candidates of members of Executive Council, invitation of Honorary President, invitation of international advisors and consultation with active members for the establishment of CAMOT.

Executive Council

The Association shall have an executive council (EC), headed by its President. The EC shall consist of the following:

  • President, president-vote.

  • Deputy Presidents

  • Secretary-general

  • Treasurer

  • 18 directors, each of them will be responsible for one particular area of the following

  1. Conference/symposium organizing

  2. Publication/proceeding/website/newsletter

  3. MOT research and education

  4. Contact with government agencies/international funding agencies

  5. Contact with industry (China/International)

  6. Contact with high education (China/International)

  7. Public relation

  8. Organizational development

Each EC member shall have one vote. Decisions shall be taken by simple majority of the voting members. In the case of a tie, the President’s vote will decide the majority. The voting may be undertaken by person or by e-mail
